Day 6 Part 5

Ok I know you're thinking how long can this day be....well this is pictures from our Trolley ride to our last and funest adventure of the day!!!  I think this first picture is just a picture of how tiny most of their streets are here.  But it could be one of someones back or front yards again.

 Just a really cool house.  I know there is some historical stuff about this house but for the life of me I can't remember.    No tours on the inside, but that would have been even cooler ;o)

Ok off to meet some of our favorite people for dinner!!!

Day 6 Part 4

Part 4 of this crazy day 6...we rode the trolley out to see the USS Constitution.  We had the option of going on a self guided tour right away or waiting 30 minutes for a guided tour.  We opted for the wait, then found out that was a great choice.  On the self guided tour you only got to stay up on deck, in the guided tour you got to go on to all levels of the ship and I have to say that it was not as scary as it was on the Mayflower II.  Here we are waiting for our tour! Such a happy couple!

For some reason it doesn't look to big from this side!  The hull of the ship is 

constructed with 21 inch thick oak

The guide took us right down to the next level right off the bat.  This level host the many, many, many cannons that they have.

Then we went down one more level and here you get to see the sleeping quarters.  Now this surprised me, I guess I never thought of how they slept so to see the beds I was impressed!  Definitely not like the Mayflower II once again.  I think you could fit the Mayflower II in this ship!    I'm pretty sure if I had to sleep in one of these on the ocean I think I would spend more time getting in it than sleeping because I would fall out!

I think he said boys ages 8-12 would run the gun powdered to each cannon.  Not sure on the ages but it was about my grandkids ages.

Each cannon weighs about 6,500 pounds, with weight of a small SUV!

Well that was well worth our time...and we highly recommend it to all who visit Boston...the cost...your driver license.  We really think security was tighter getting in to see this ship than getting on the airplane!  So don't miss it if you go to Boston!!!
